A fine silver thread
about 25 microns thick is drawn from silver rods or silver
alloys, which is wound on bobbins for further process. The
fine silver thread is passed through equal pressure rotating
rollers to flatten the thread for more strength. This flattened
silver ribbons are wound on small spools to be used for rounding
above silk threads. In a manufacturing process silk threads
are continuously passing over which flattened silver ribbons
are wound gives complete silver look coating. These wounded
silk threads with silver ribbons are rolled into rollers for
further process of electroplating. The rollers are passed
through gold electroplating bath with desired voltage and
current to plate the threads with desired plating thickness.
These gold plated silk/silver threads are called Zari threads
and further passes through brightener to increase brightness
of gold plating and to give aesthetic good look. The spools
of Zari threads are once again passed through equal pressure
rollers and flattened to remove any spirals and to allow more
strength. |
